Along with Pico’s announcement to launch its Neo 3 in European markets, the VR hardware and software developer company also announced a special discount and the possibility of a new product launch within a year.
Pico will be launching its Neo 3 headset as the Neo 3 Link in Germany, Spain, Netherlands and France in May. As well as Italy and the UK in the following month. With pre-orders starting this 15th of April, Pico has dubbed the entire launch as the “beta program”. Leland Hedges, Pico Europe General Manager has stated, right before ending the livestreamed event, that the company will offer 35% discount on a future model that they have been working on. The discount is only applicable to buyers of their Neo 3 Link VR headset during the course of their beta program.
Apparently, Pico has been working on a new product to be launched within the year and they want active participation from their target audience in Europe in order to make this happen. The disclaimer during the event stated that “subject to beta program success”, will buyers be eligible to the 35% discount on their yet-to-be launched model. And the purchase is to be made within 3 months from product launch, through Pico’s original retailers.
The beta program is basically being conducted to see if European buyers are intent on getting their hands on Pico products. With an incentive like the discount, it is plausible that a greater number of people may want to pre-order their Neo 3 Links this April. Shipping of the products will start on the 24th of May, and are priced competitively at £449 and £349 per unit, respective to launch months April and May.
