Pistol Whip developer, Cloudhead Games, has announced that the game will now be receiving community mods.
Community driven mods are basically modifications to the game that are developed by gaming communities to increase the gameplay value and players’ interest in the game. Mods add a number of extra functionalities to the game, to either make it easier for the player to continue throughout the gameplay without the requirement of spending pennies in order to move forward. Or to just add more fun to the content of the games, by including packages that offer fan-made scenarios to be incorporated in the gameplay, purely for the amusement of the player.
Cloudhead Games released the VR game for PlayStation VR, which involved players shooting to the beats of a number of discernible songs. Cloudhead Games has evolved over the years to match different playing styles and customizable in-game themes. Players have long expressed their desire for community driven mods to be supported in the game and apparently, the developers agree. Along with the mods, there will also be special missions for players to complete within given time limits, so they could win grant rewards called “Contracts”.
This comes along with the announcement that Cloudhead Games will also be working on new VR titles with a much “deeper scope and vision”. These “next-gen” VR games will belong to the AAA genre of virtual reality games, so it can be confirmed that these could be pretty high-end and possibly cater to Sony’s PS VR 2. Cloudhead Games has always been innovative with their titles so no doubt players would love the upcoming games they have to offer.
I, for one, cannot wait for more updates on this exciting new series of VR titles.
